New Light Tour Begins This Month

Karnataka will be embarking on the New Light Tour in the UK this month. The band has seen a lot of changes lately and they are coming back better than ever. The tour kicks off in Norwich on the 20th and winds up in London on March 10th. Scroll down and check out these dates and venues and be sure to get tickets soon and avoid disappointment. This is a fantastic band and it will be show you won’t want to miss. I hope they make it across the Atlantic one day so US fans can enjoy them. They are on my must see list.

DKM Announces US Tour Dates for 2011

Dropkick Murphys has just announced the dates for their 2011 St Patrick’s Day US Tour. They will be supported in most cites by Florida band Against Me. They will be added a few more cities as time goes on so be sure and check their website here for more info. They will also be having a huge ‘Black Friday’ sale on merchandise the day after Thanksgiving.

Two of the Boston shows are already sold out but they have added one more. Tickets for most of the shows go on sale Nov 20. You can buy tickets here

There is a new studio album in the works for 2011 also.

Great Big Sea is a great Celt Rock band with a strong leaning toward sea shanties as their name would imply. The band is from St Johns, Newfoundland and the sea is truly in the blood of those from the Maritime Provinces. They are currently on tour so if they are coming to your area be sure and catch them.

The Script Sign on for Arthur’s Day Celebration

The Script have joined the line up for Arthur’s Day Celebration along with Sharon Corr, Imelda May and Westlife. Snow Patrol, Paolo Nutini, Brandon Flowers and Manic Street Preachers and many others will be on the bill at one of the Official Celebrations. The excitement is growing along with the guest list. There will be simultaneous celebrations at pubs throughout Ireland as well. If you are there get your tickets now as some locations are selling out. There will also be celebrations in the US and in other countries. We certainly will have an Arthur’s Day post here on Thursday and have a pint ready to lift at 17:59.

The Script have recently completed a successful tour of the UK and Ireland and their second album, Science and Faith is #1 on the charts there. I’m sure US fans will give it similar honors when it is released in the US on Sept 21st (see link below to pre-order your copy).

The Saw Doctors

The Saw Doctors have released the single Takin’ the Train from their new cd. The video of Takin’ the Train can be seen here

On Saturday July 3 The Saw Doctors will appear at the Millennium Forum in Newmarket Street, Derry. They will be at The Diamond as part of the Donegal Summer Festival in Donegal on Sunday July 4th.

Celtic Thunder

A few more cities are now selling tickets for the upcoming Celtic Thunder tour. The tour will run from Sept – Dec and include cities in both Canada and the US. To check out the updates just click here In addition to the cities that are newly added, Minneapolis will be doing a pre-sale on July 7. The pre-sale code for Celtic Thunder shows is generally DUBLIN. I will keep checking with both the Celtic Thunder website and Ticketmaster and let you know when more cities are on sale.

Celtic Thunder has two new cds in the works. One will be a Christmas Album and the other is an album of Irish tunes tentatively called Heritage. No release date has been given for either CD but I would expect they would be available in time for the fall tour.

Coyote Run

Coyote Run has announced the release of their new cd Ten Years Running: A Retrospective To celebrate both the cd and the anniversary of the band they are holding two special concerts in their hometown of Williamsburg VA on July 16th and 17th they will perform at the Kimball Theater. These shows are must see for all Coyote Run fans. Former band members will be joining them on stage and they should bring the house down. Tickets are available by calling 1-800-HISTORY.
