September is a great month for festivals. The weather is a little cooler and nothing ushers in a change of season like some great Irish Music. Festivals have a lot of entertainment. There are generally fabulous dance shows, great pipe bands. Some festivals also sponsor runs and fun contests like Reddest Hair, Greenest Eyes etc. Many of these festivals will fall over half pat’s weekend which marks the halfway point to St Patrick’s Day and a wonderful reason to celebrate with Irish beer, Irish Music and possibly some Irish whiskey. So find one near you and get yourself to it. You’ll be glad you did!

I can’t believe May is almost over. Where did it go? June is just around the corner and the festival season is going strong. Here are some great June festivals that you have to take in if you can. Great music, lots of dancing, piping, and Celtic culture galore. Great food and activities for everyone. What’s not to like?

Solas Tour

They have an extensive tour schedule planned for 2010 starting with the midwest. For a complete schedule please check their website by clicking here. They are covering a lot of territory so if they are performing near you please don’t miss them. They will be at the Dublin Irish Festival in Dublin, Ohio August 6-8. This is one I would love to attend myself. Also appearing at this festival are Enter the Haggis, Gaelic Storm, Barley Juice, Tartan Terrors and many other great acts.
