Celtic Fest Chicago http://www.celticfestchicago.us May 8 &#8211; 9 Millennium Park, Chicago IL Free The Saw Doctors* appear May 8 Also appearing &#8211; The Rogues, The Elders, Shannon Rovers, Baal Tinne, Bodega, Maiden IV, The Larkin and Moran Brothers and several more bands including many acts from Nova Scotia. Also a limerick contest, a best legs in a kilt contest, bagpiping, dancing exhibitions and many activities for kids. Best of all the event is free. There is no reason to miss this one. They have also booked American English a great Beatles Tribute Band. There will be many notable pipers and drummers along with the Irish Music School of Chicago </strong></p>

They will also have many kids activities such as magic shows, juggling acts, a Celtic Farm Animal Petting Zoo and face painting</strong></p>

		<description><![CDATA[Highlander Radio has announced the winners of the 2009 Celtic Radio Music Awards. These awards are voted on by the listeners of and members of CelticRadio.net The top album of the year is Everything is Alright by Burning Bridget Cleary. This is the second album from this great high energy band following their debut album Catharsis which was released in 2006. If you have never heard them you are missing a real treat. Two of the songs from this album also made song of the year in the individual song awards. Soldier, Soldier (my personal favorite BBC song to date) won in the Contemporary category and Three Set won in the Jigs and Reels category. Other individual song winners were Murphy&#8217;s Ashes by Enter the Haggis from the album Gutter Anthems in the Celtic Rock category; Caledonia by Celtic Thunder from the album Act Two in the Traditional category; The Queen&#8217;s Piper Medley by Jim McRae from the album Global Gathering in the bagpipes category; Raggle Taggle Gypsy by Celtic Thunder, also from Act Two, in the Roots Traditional category. They have a show coming up on April 17 at <a href="http://www.thecolonialtheatre.com/category/events/concerts-events/">the Colonial Theatre</a> in Phoenixville, PA. This show will also include two of my other favorite bands <strong>Tempest</strong> and <strong>Coyote Run</strong>. This is a can&#8217;t miss show so get your tickets now.</p>
