Rochester Tartan Day Celebration 2010 will take place April 10 – 11 at the Rochester Public Market, 280 Union Street North, Rochester, NY This festival is billed as a chance to get back to your Scottish roots but you needn’t be Scottish to enjoy the festivities. The musical entertainment will include some of our favorites: The Glengarry Bhoys!, Cluidan, Tullamore with the RSCD, BCW TRIO along with performances by the Rochester Scottish Pipes & Drums and the Gates Keystone Police Pipes & Drums and the debut of The Scottish Heritage Society’s Own Pipes & Drums. Southern Illinois Irish Festiva is April 23-25 at Turley Park in Carbondale IL One of my favorite bands, Mother Grove, will be performing Friday night. as will Patsy O’Brien. Sedalia Celtic Festival will be held April 24 at the Sedalia Center located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Bedford County, Virginia. Enter the Haggis will be appearing here at 10 AM when the gates open so get there early. I am sure going to try to get to this one. Remember to bring non perishable food or some dry goods to turn in at their merchandise table. It will be donated to a local food pantry or shelter as part of the Enter the Haggis Community Initiative. Also appearing at the festival will be Robin Rich a Celtic folk singer from Lynchburg, VA. We will be spotlighting more festivals this month so you can make your plans to attend. Festivals are a great way to spend your day immersed in Celtic traditions, eating great food, hearing great music and having a taste or two of great Irish beer and whiskey. has once again invited us to play at their 4th Annual International
Corned Beef Challenge featuring an Evening of Irish Music. We’ll be

Seanchai & the Unity Squad and the Cunningham Brothers. Doors open at
3 p.m. and the event starts at 4 p.m. and we will play at 7:15 p.m.

For those who have never listened to any Celtrock, I will list a few of my favorites. Some are very well known to our readers but there may be a few you haven’t heard of and need to check out. ORACLE I’m not sure if this is a band or one person who laid down several tracks. I just know the music is great. He/they are from Northern Ireland also.
