Festivals have a lot of entertainment. There are generally fabulous dance shows, great pipe bands. Some festivals also sponsor runs and fun contests like Reddest Hair, Greenest Eyes etc. Many of these festivals will fall over half pat&#8217;s weekend which marks the halfway point to St Patrick&#8217;s Day and a wonderful reason to celebrate with Irish beer, Irish Music and possibly some Irish whiskey. So find one near you and get yourself to it. You&#8217;ll be glad you did! Burning Bridget Cleary is an award winning band from Harleysville, PA They have two very successful cds out. Members are: Rose Baldino-Fiddle/Vocals, Genevieve Gilespie-Fiddle/Vocals, Lou Baldino-Guitar/Vocals, Pete Trezzi-Dhjembe Ceann is a band from Pittsburgh. If you love the comical irreverence of Gaelic Storm and the Saw Doctors you will flip for Ceann just like I did. It&#8217;s not often a band can pull off both music and comedy expertly but Ceann does it. These awards are voted on by the listeners of and members of CelticRadio.net The top album of the year is Everything is Alright by Burning Bridget Cleary. This is the second album from this great high energy band following their debut album Catharsis which was released in 2006. If you have never heard them you are missing a real treat. Two of the songs from this album also made song of the year in the individual song awards. Soldier, Soldier (my personal favorite BBC song to date) won in the Contemporary category and Three Set won in the Jigs and Reels category.
