It seems that this was no trouble at all for the Celtic Punk Rock band Sir Reg. Their new album is every bit as fantastic! In fact, 21st Century Loser pushes the envelop even further. As well as delivering fantastic music, it takes on social issues and the hard facts of life as it is now. They dare to call out the rich for robbing from the rest of us.

The Tosspints Announce Release Date and Begin Pre-sale of 3rd Studio Album

</center?

The Tosspints and East Grand Record Co. have begun promotion of the pre-sale for The Tosspints' new album "Have You Been Drinking?". The album is the band's 3rd full length studio release since 2009 and is scheduled to hit sales outlets in June (official release date: 6/4). The album, recorded by Andy Reed (The Verve Pipe), contains 12 all new Tosspints songs, including 10 originals and two traditional Irish songs re-tooled to fit their hard driving style. In addition to the album, as an incentive, they will be offering as exclusive content, a free download of their own rendition of "Boys from the County Hell" (The Pogues). This track is available on a limited basis and not included in any format after the pre-sale closes on May 24th. Those who participate in the pre-sale will also receive their album 1-2 weeks prior to the official release ate, and special pricing on bundles of CD, LP and limited edition t-shirt.

The pre-sale link can be found here:

Formed in 2008, The Tosspints are comprised of brothers Don Zuzula (guitar, vocals), a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and younger brother Zak Zuzula (bass, vocals), a union school teacher, along with drummer John Johnson. They draw from their world experience and working class upbringing in the rust belt city of Saginaw, Michigan for their poetically dark yet uptempo songs. Their powerful stage presence and unyielding energy on stage has earned hem spots on stage with iconic underground rock heroes such as The Goddamn Gallows, The Tossers, Murder by death, The Young Dubliners, and earned festival showcases from The Michigan Irish Music Festival, the Crispy Music Festival, and the George Killians Irish Red Ruckus as direct support for Dropkick Murphys. Their songwriting skills have been recognized in the 2011 John Lennon Songwriting Contest where they earned a finalist position and their powerful fan support has earned them a spot on the 2012 Vans Warped Tour Ernie Ball Stage and Alternative Press Magazine Detroit’s Band of the Month for December 2012.

The Royal Spuds is a fabulous Celtic Punk band from the Netherlands. Start Your Engines! is their debut EP and what a debut it is! There is a good variety of favorites and an original tune, as well; all done in a fantastic in your face punk style with great guitar and vocals. Their Finnegan’s Wake is very upbeat in true Irish wake form. Last Call is done in an almost intimate style (well intimate for punk, that is.) And this Come Out Ye Black & Tans is one of the best I have heard in ages. Start Your Engines! should definitely be on your St Paddy’s Day Party play list and you’ll want to keep listening long after the partying and hangovers are done with. Really good stuff!
The Days Of Convenience is the latest album by James Clark Jones. James was born in Scotland but emigrated with his family as a child and now resides in Canada. This album is one of the best Folk albums I have heard in a long time. One of the songs from it has been a favorite of mine for a while as it was released as a single ahead of the album. Stranger In The Homeland is the perfect ‘you can’t go home again or can you?’ songs about a trip he took back to Scotland. Glasgow is a catchy song that gets stuck in your head and you’re glad to have it there. Whisky has a bluesy feel to it. The Mountain is a beautiful and powerful spoken piece. Perhaps my favorite is Rising Young Man, which is very reminiscent of early Dylan. The Days Of Convenience is true folk, the songs are about people, the decisions they make, challenges they face and how they make it through life.

It’s easy to identify with the songs on this beautiful album. If you like acoustic, folk, great singing and songs that actually have something to say, this is the album for you!

Song List

1. The Mountain
2. Damage
3. Stranger In The Homeland
4. Once We Get To Here
5. Here Comes The Real You Now
6. Glasgow
7. Cool
8. The Straw
9. Whisky
10. Making Love On Mondays
11. Rising Young Man

There are some fantastic festivals coming up this month, in addition to all the St Patrick’s Day celebrations. Here are a few of the really good ones. Many Irish pubs like Kells in Portland and McNallys in Chicago are hosting mini festivals at the pub so if you are in either of those cities be sure to check them out. Most Irish pubs will be pulling out the stops then also so check your locals. Be sure to check out these festivals too. Sonora has really outdone themselves this year. And one of the really big fests takes place in DC this month. Shamrockfest is a mecca for all hard core Celtic Rock and Celtic Punk fans and they also have a lot of great Indie bands too. There are a couple of good ones in Fla this month too, in case you are sick of winter.
