Beyond Celtic/Celtic Fire Gearing Up For Spring Leg of the Tour

Michael Londra’s show, Beyond Celtic, will be kicking off the Spring Leg of their tour on Feb 10. (Some shows on the tour will be billed as Celtic Fire and may have some casting variations.) If you love great Irish music and dance performed live in a show setting this is a show you won’t want to miss. You may have seen parts of this show on PBS and it should be on again in March as PBS seems to go Irish that month – but then, who doesn’t? Check your local PBS station listings for showtimes. New Light Tour Begins This Month

Karnataka will be embarking on the New Light Tour in the UK this month. The band has seen a lot of changes lately and they are coming back better than ever. The tour kicks off in Norwich on the 20th and winds up in London on March 10th. Scroll down and check out these dates and venues and be sure to get tickets soon and avoid disappointment. This is a fantastic band and it will be show you won’t want to miss. I hope they make it across the Atlantic one day so US fans can enjoy them. They are on my must see list.

Fallen Empires Now On Sale in North America

The new Snow Patrol album, Fallen Empires, is on sale today in North America! A deluxe DVD/CD set or Vinyl edition can be ordered here It can also be downloaded from ITunes here and Amazon

Snow Patrol will launch their North American tour at the end of March. Tickets will begin to go on sale starting Friday January 13th. Tickets can be purchased through their website here. I would expect a lot of these shows to sell out so get your tickets as soon as possible.

Here is an updated version of the Saw Doctors 2012 Spring tour of North America. They are hitting a lot of cities this time so there is no excuse not to go see them. Dublin Down ~ by Bogside Rogues

Bogside Rogues is a Celtic Rock band from Philly. They perform in the Mid Atlantic area. You will definitely want to catch this band live but until you do they have two cds out you can enjoy. Dublin Down is their second album.

This album is a fun romp through Irish music. There are traditional drinking songs like Rare Ould Mountain Dew, some more contemporary tunes – one from the Pogues and two from the Saw Doctors – along with lots and lots of rebel songs. Their Follow Me Up To Carlow is one of the best I’ve heard. Kinky Boots was a new one for me but I love it. They also do Back Home in Derry which is one of my favorites. The tune was written by Gordon Lightfoot as The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and the words were written by Bobby Sands. It’s a beautiful song and the Bogside Rogues do a fantastic job on it.

This is a fabulous album and should be on everyone’s St Patrick’s Day Party playlist. Diehard Celtic Rock fans, like myself, will want to listen to it all year long, of course. It is currently available from the band at gigs so I have added their gig list at the bottom of the post. I can tell you from personal experience that they are a great band to see live. If they are in your area get out and see them.

The Saw Doctors to Tour the UK
