Wake The Conscious ~ By Green Tea

May 22, 2012
Green Tea is a genre defying band from Wisconsin. They will blow you away from the first note you hear. From the sheer musicianship of the band you would expect them to be a lot older than they are. They have made a name for themselves in the Midwest and are beginning to conquer the rest of the world. Green Tea is an amazingly diverse band whose songs actually have something to say. Their lyrics are as inspired and as inspiring as their music. Wake the Conscious has the heart and soul of the best folk music but is also infused with the rich musical sounds of World and Celtic Fusion with a little jazz, Jethro Tull and Chilli Peppers thrown into the mix. The variety of songs on the album is fantastic. Indigenous is a powerful song that can apply to every Indigenous population that ever got in the way of someone's Imperialist goals, although there is a Native American feel to it. John Dory is a catchy song that will get stuck in your head but one in which you will hear more detail with each listen. Possibly my favorite song is Shafted , which is a glimpse into the real world of mining. This is an album you will definitely want in your collection and a band you will want to pay attention to. You can learn more about them at their website here and find them at facebook here. You can hear samples of the their music in both places. Give them a listen and I'm sure you'll become an instant fan. Green Tea will be performing at Oshkosh Irish Fest on June 2nd. Song List 1 To Live Without Dead Time 2 You Left Me Upset 3 Indigenous 4 John Dory 5 Run 6 Cove 7 Do You Know Your Name? 8 Shafted 9 Morning Dew 10 Road To Lisdoonvarna This album is available at ITunes, CDUniverse and at cdbaby
