The Gathering Light isn’t just an album. It’s an event. It opens with the soulful Uillienn pipes of Troy Donockley which sets the mood for the journey that the music takes you on. The anticipation builds with track 2 and by the time Lisa Fury’s lovely vocals take over you are completely hooked. The music on this album is very dramatic and moves you seamlessly along on a quest to the final cut The Gathering Light.
Karnataka has taken rock to a whole new level in this album. It is musically rich and captures the listener from the first note. The songs are all powerful and beautiful. This is one you want to just kick back and listen to and let it take you away to a magical place. It would be hard to pick a favorite song as they are all so rich but I think mine would be the final track. It is like the perfect ending of a great book or movie.
